Isle of Wight Cricket

Meet the team

Kate Barton - Director (Chair and Women's & Girl's)

Cricket is my passion and I've been involved at ALL levels on IOW for over 20 years.

As a mother of three children who all played at school and club, I (like many other parents) fell in love with cricket. I already had a background in sport and coaching so found it easy to transition into coach/manager of the junior section at our local club.

I have been a qualified cricket coach for more than fifteen years and have worked at every stage of participation from...

Ben White - Director (Youth)

I am the current 1st XI captain at Shanklin & Godshill and have been at the club since I was very young.

I am in my final year of a PE and Sports Coaching degree at the University of Chichester. From September I will be starting a teacher training year based on the Isle of Wight.

I have represented and captained the IWCB county teams throughout the age groups, most successfully at U17 level, and now play for the senior team. I understand the system and have endured my ...

Claire Everard - Director (Finance)

I am a sport enthusiast, regularly taking part in cricket, cycling, swimming, sailing and skiing. Although I only started playing cricket in 2019, I have been involved in the juniors set up at Ryde CC for a few years through my eldest son. Initially scoring, then helping with the management of the U11 and U13 teams, and then an All Stars coach. I am also currently in the process of completing my Foundation Level 1 Coaches course.

During 2019 I became involved in the girls and ladies...

Martyn Richards - Director (Leagues)

Hugh Wells - Director (Staff)

I have been a IWCB director since 2016 when the then chairman asked me if I would be willing to stand to bring some of my business experience to the board.

I am by no means a cricket expert and my cricketing knowledge has mainly been limited to having my 4 sons on various cricketing pathways, both on the Island and further afield.

Having observed cricket at many different levels I have come to realise that it is vitally important for its enjoyment to always keep our sport ...

Hugh Griffiths - Directors (Marketing and PR)

People may know me for my involvement with Newclose, since moving to Bembridge in 2009. My cricket links with the Island go back to the late 1940s, with a photo of me holding a cricket bat in front of my grandmother’s beach hut at Puckpool, whilst on a family holiday. The intervening 70 years have seen my love of cricket and the Island growing from those roots. I’d be pleased to do more for cricket in general and IWCB in particular.

David Pratt - Director (Clubs)

Dave Cox - Director (Performance)

I have been involved in cricket on the island for around 32 years now, mostly as a player but the last 10 years helping on the county/club youth cricket scene.

I have seen many areas of the game which includes club cricket on the island, Hampshire club age group, Hampshire district cricket, county cricket, so have experience of where youngsters can potentially grow into the next academy/professional cricketer.

I have a been a director for 2 years and I&rsqu...

Stuart Chatfield - Cricket Development Manager

I have been in my role since 2007. Moving to the Island from Brunel University where I oversaw the 90 student sports clubs and societies and managed the department staff and coaches.

My responsibilities as the Cricket Development Manager are wide and varying but include the day-to-day management of the organisation including long-term strategic planning, finance and being the main staff link between the ECB and the IW Cricket Board.

Working with club volunteers and seeing ...

Andy Woodward - Head & EPP Coach

Harriet Mcquillan - County Safeguarding Officer

My interest and love for cricket has been born from my eldest son who does nothing but play or watch cricket!
My day job is in children’s safeguarding so it seemed a natural step to combine the two in this role.
I have lived on the Isle of Wight nearly all my life and my husband is a manager of an Isle of Wight cricket youth team. We have 3 children and they keep us busy with Cricket , football, rugby and dance!
The Isle of Wight is a wonderful place to live and the community ...
