Callum Miller said goodbye to Island cricket with his best performance ever with ball and bat. On a damp and slow wicket Callum came on to bowl when the score was on 53-2 off 14 . A double wicket over in his second over started the collapse, then another in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th, bringing his figures to 9-0-25-6. Cornwall finished on 169 in their innings. On a difficult wicket J Cheek and C Miller opened the batting and put on 37 for the first wicket of Cheek for 20. Callum battled on under great pressure from the Cornwall team both verbally and intent. He was finally out in the 19th over for 17. IW was all out for 90.With the weather closing in Cornwall batted to 185 on the second day, putting the island in to get 264. Again Callum was resiliant at the top of the order with J Cheek putting on 53 in 17 overs for the first wicket. The rain came at 3.22 and a loosing draw was called. A great farewell performance from one of the islands most dedicated players. |
