England Womens team signs with Paul Costelloe

ECB teams up with Paul Costelloe

The ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) today announced that British fashion designer Paul Costelloe will supply the official formal wear to the England Women’s Team.

Paul will design and manufacture a formal suit as well as a casual travelling outfit for the England Women’s Cricket Team and Management. For official occasions, a two-piece Paul Costelloe suit has been designed, complete with white trim and the ECB logo embroidered onto the left breast pocket. This will be completed by a cotton white shirt. For more casual occasions, navy blue linen trousers have been chosen to be worn with a navy and white striped top. A white linen jacket completes the look.

England women’s captain Charlotte Edwards commented: “It’s fantastic to be wearing Paul Costelloe. The whole look gives us an identity as a team and both outfits are of really high quality. It’s great to be associated with such a high-quality product and we’re all really looking forward to wearing the suits on our Ashes tour.”

Medium-pace bowler Isa Guha is also delighted to be attired in Paul Costelloe and added: “This is great news for women’s cricket. To have such a high-profile British designer on board is great exposure for us. The designs for both outfits look great and I can’t wait for the tour to begin so we can start wearing them!”

Paul Costelloe added: “This is certainly the year for women in sport; it has been an honour and a privilege to be associated with a team at the top of their game and to create the outfits for these amazing sportswomen. I wish them all the success in bringing home the Ashes again!”

England women head to Australia on January 21 to contest the Ashes in one Test match at The Bradman Oval starting on February 15. They also play five one-day internationals at the MCG, SCG and the Drummoyne Oval and a Twenty20 match at the MCG before heading to New Zealand for a five-match ODI series on February 20.
