IWCB Funding From the ECB

Isle of Wight Cricket Board What funding does the Board receive from the ECB and what does the Board have to do to gain that funding.

The funding the board receives is split into two pots. The first is a Fixed Fee payment, and the second is a Performance Related Payments (PRP).

What are these payments link too?
The Fixed Fee payment is link to targets set by the Board. These target come in two forms, a set of quantitative targets, which the Board believes, are realistic for it county, across a few area seen as vital by the ECB.
The second area of the Fixed Fee payment is set against a number of key objectives agreed by the board after it has completed an assessment of its activities and consulted with its stakeholders.
These key objectives will vary in the time they will take to implement, so the ECB asks the Board to produce a yearly plan out lining what it will have achieved by September 31st each year. The Board has to show evidence that is has reach it targets set out in its year plan to the ECB for the funding to be gained.

The PRP
This area is related to Focus Club and Board Activity. Each Focus Club on the Island, are asked to complete an annual development plan online. The clubs are asked for information related to the season just finished (actual Information) and then asked to identify areas they would like to develop in and how they are going to work towards achieving them, with support from the Board. All this information is submitted to the ECB and recorded.

The actual information is used to build up a picture of Island cricket in five key areas, which are: -
· Participation
· Focus Club Membership
· Club Accreditation
· Coaching Roles
· Volunteer Roles

To gain the PRP money the ECB is looking to see an increase in those five key areas from year to year. If you have a look at the PRP attachment you will see the figures from 2007 & 2008 and will see that across all of our Focus Club we have seen an increase in all of the key areas.
