IWCB U13s pipped by Wiltshire U13s who won by 58 runs

A great bowling and fielding display saw the Island U13s restrict Wiltshire to 147 runs off just over 37 overs. Barney Tyler set the momentum rolling clean bowling the Wilts no 1 with the first ball of the match and Gary Cooper took the second wicket in the 6th over. Wilts then re-grouped with the next two batsmen scoring 44 and 53 respectively before Toby Corbin, Barney Tyler and Gary Cooper wrapped up the innings. Barney Tyler took 3 for 19 off 7 overs, Gary Cooper 3-19 off 6.3 overs and Toby Corbin 3 for 21 off 7 overs. Julion Jayerajah took the other wicket to fall. The Island innings set off at a fair pace with Leo Nutter cracking 21 before waving at a ball outside off and begin caught. Wickets tumbled at regular intervals before Jack England built a good innings of 26 and was ably supported by Barney Tyler on 17 not out. Unfortunately another minor coolapse saw the Island finish well up on the run rate but running out of wickets at 89 all out off just 20 overs. |
