Isle of Wight Girls tie with mums

A close fought game held at Northwood CC on Saturday 21st August ended in a dramatic tie.
Batting first the Junior side posted 93 for 3 off of their 14 overs (Lucy Scholes top scoring with 12).
County coach Kate Barton was the pick of the bowlers taking the 3 wickets.
The 'Ladies' were always behind the required run rate but fine batting from Rachael Mew and a stern defence from Yvonne Curran enabled them to get close to the target. Only the run out of Yvonne on the last ball stopped them from winning the match.
Tea and cakes were available before and during the game and a barbecue was held afterwards. Also a fundraising raffle was held with Lucy Blake the main prize winner.
