MCC match abandoned

After starting in fine warm weather, the annual MCC match sponsored by Island Waste, was abandoned after an early lunch due to heavy and persistent rain. This was Island Waste's last sponsorship of the event so it was bitterly disappointing that the game ended in this way. However the Isle of Wight Cricket Board owes the company a great debt of gratitude for their support of Cricket on the Island over the last 12 years. The IWCB also owes Ryde Cricket Club a great thank for all the hard work that they put in to stage the event.
