Newclose Cup Draw

On the 29th April in the presence of Stuart Chatfield (IWCB Cricket Development Manager), Brian Gardener (Benefactor and Trustee of Newclose County Cricket Ground) and the Newclose County Cricket Ground committee the draw took place for the Newclose Cup competition to be played under the ECB twenty20 laws in September of 2009. The draw is a s follows: Qualification Round: Wed 9th September Ryde Cavaliers v Ryde Thurs 10th September Carisbrooke School Old Boys v West Island Round 1 Wed 16th September Ryde Cavs/Ryde v Carisbrooke School Old Boys/West Island (Game A) Thu 17th September Newport v Ventnor (Game B) Fri 18th September Northwood v St Helen's (Game C) Sat 19th September GKN v Brading (Game D) Semi Final Sat 19th September Semi Final A Winners Game A v Winners Game B Sun 20th September Semi Final B Winners Game C v Winners Game D Final Sun 20th September Winners Semi Final A v Winners Semi Final B It is proposed that all evening games will commence at 5pm (or earlier if the two teams involved can agree) and that the weekend games will start at 10.30am and 2.30pm The winners of the competition will receive the Newclose Cup trophy and a cheque for £500. The runners up will receive a cheque for £250.
