The Caulkheads tame The Bears

Electing to bat on a seemingly hard and bouncy track at Shanklin the Isle of Wight's disability side (The Caulkheads) were soon finding runs difficult to get, as the bounce from the wicket proved a little variable.
However, with David 'Judgy' Lloyd (top scorer with 29) camped at one end, the rest of the team could at least try to play a few shots.
But 4 batsmen came and went in a 5 over spell, so it became obvious that slow and steady was the order of the day, and with those instructions in mind, the lower middle order finally realised it's potential, garnering 67 runs in the last 14 overs.
Peanut Brown, Wayne (aka Fray Bentos) Dunne and Graham 'Shed' Sprack all made significant contributions
Pick of the bowlers for Warwickshire was Rory Phelan, whose 3 wickets and 20 runs from 7 overs was the main playing reason why The Caulkheads failed to reach maximum batting points.
The Warwickshire reply never really got going as wickets fell too regularly the Caulkhead's bowlers. The pick of them was the wily old spinner 'Shed' Sprack who finished with 6 for 6 from his 4.1 overs (his 2nd 6 fer for the County side), which included 4 wickets in 6 balls.
Only Neil Francis offered any real resistance, but 11 from 4 overs was scant reward for some fine shots.
