VENTNOR CC OSCA CLUB MARK REACCREDITATION

VENTNOR CRICKET CLUB RECEIVE AN OSCA!
Ventnor Cricket Club has been recognised by the England & Wales Cricket Board for their services to club cricket.

In conjunction with NatWest, the Island club has been presented with an OSCA (Outstanding Service to Cricket Award), acknowledging the work of club volunteers and their outstanding contribution to the success of the club both on and off the field.

The aim of the OSCA’s is to recognise those who give of their time freely to the game of cricket and to value every volunteer. It is hoped the OSCA’S will also help promote and develop volunteering in cricket and contribute to the future of the game.

In the words of England’s Matthew Hoggard: ‘Every cricket team has it’s unsung heroes and there are many people involved in the sport who make a big contribution to the success of a club’.

VENTNOR ACHIEVE CLUB MARK RE-ACCREDITATION
The club is also one of the first in the country to have achieved Clubmark re-accreditation. Clubmark is a scheme pioneered by the England & Wales Cricket Board which requires clubs to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to being a safe, effective and child friendly cricket club.

‘The principles behind maintaining ECB Clubmark standards are important and fundamental to the continued high quality development of the club and young cricketers. The hard work the club has undertaken has been recognised by the ECB, the IW Cricket Board and Sport England and I am pleased to confirm Ventnor’s Clubmark re-accreditation’ said Tessa Whieldon of the ECB.
