Disabled Caulkheads start ECB Championship with hot win

The IWCB Disability XI started their season with a fine win at Westhill on Sunday. The Caulkheads won the toss and elected to bat on a glorious day at Shanklin.
The strong batting line up meant that the tempo of the innings started high and was maintained throughout, with the maximum batting points target achieved in only 17 overs.
Solid contributions from Peter Atkins(88), Doug Randall (55*) and David Lloyd (35) saw the Island reach 257-6 declared.
For London, Bilal Ali and Asif Henif took 2 wickets each.
London started their reply slowly, and 2 wickets in the 6th over seemed to be the nails in the coffin. But dogged resistance from skipper Amir Khan (28) and a few lusty blows from Henif, Wischussen and Forbes took London to 103, their highest total in only their 2nd season in the Championship. Pick of the bowlers on debut in the Championship was Chris Hebberd with 3 for 22 for his 8 overs.
The Caulkheads won by 154 runs
