Stuart Chatfield - Cricket Development Manager
I have been in my role since 2007. Moving to the Island from Brunel University where I oversaw the 90 student sports clubs and societies and managed the department staff and coaches.
My responsibilities as the Cricket Development Manager are wide and varying but include the day-to-day management of the organisation including long-term strategic planning, finance and being the main staff link between the ECB and the IW Cricket Board.
Working with club volunteers and seeing new players develop is the aspect of the job I get the most satisfaction from. I coach the Islands disability side for the last three years and support a number of clubs with coaching and running All Star programmes which is really rewarding.
My cricket career is mainly as a village cricketer in sunny Sussex, the highlights were playing district cricket at U13 and 14 level and winning the Sussex schools cup.
Looking forward I hope the new strategy will be successfully implemented and make a real difference to Island cricket and engage with the whole population of the Island.
